Ladies and Savages. The Christchurch Savage Club held their annual ladies’ night "korero” at the Art Gallery on Wednesday. The stage was arranged to represent a Alaori pa, and a very enjoyable convert was given by members of the club; next followed a cleverly-performed Alaori play. .Supper was handed around, and the entertainment was brought to a close with dancing. The Christchurch Musical Union gave the third concert of the season on Alonday night at His Majesty's Theatre. The programme consisted of Orchestral items, part songs, and solos. The vocal Soloists were: Airs. Wilbraham (Wellington), and Mr. R. B. Williams (Wellington), Aliss Doris Mclntyre (violin) soloist, Aliss Rima Young (pianoforte) soloist and accompanist, Dr. Bradshaw (conductor The concert was a most enjoyable one, and. as usual on these occasions, every seat in His Aiajesty’s Theatre was occupied. A Social Evening. A social evening was spent in Cox’s Assembly Room on Tuesday evening bv the members of the Reform League, who (had assisted Air. Mrs. Nicholls and Miss Fulton, who have been for a trip to Japan, have returned to Christchurch. Mrs. Derek Westenra (Dunsandel) is staying with Mrs. Nicholls at Mansfielda venue. Miss Ogle (Christchurch) is visiting Mrs. L. V. Palmer at Gisborne Mrs. W. Barton (Featherston), who has been the guest of Mrs. Reeves, Montreal-street, Christchurch, has returned to the North Island. Captain and Mrs. Strang left Christchurch on Thursday for the North Island. They are taking a holiday trip to the South Sea Islands. Miss Browne (Fiji; is staying in Christchurch.
