WINTER FLOWERING SWEET PEAS.
Remuera. Dear Veronica,—ln your notes in the “Graphic” of 26th inst. you draw attention to the fact that winter flowering peas are not grown to any great extent in New Zealand. The reason of this I think is, tlxat - the people do not know that these peas are procurable, and ‘that they are as easily grown as the standard sorts. I have grown winter flowering peas for the last three winters with remarkably good results. I give them similar treatment to the standard sorts, and sow at about the same time. This year I sowed on boxes in Marell, and have gathered, flowers from the Ist of June, and expect to gatlier till November, when I will let them run to seed. I might say that I have been asked by numerous admirers of these peas how' I grow them, and if they are grown under glass, etc. I am certain that if people only knew how easily they are grown, and that the seeds are procurable at most seed merchants, our gardens would be much brighter at a season of the year when brightness is- most wanted.—1 am, etc., H. GOLDIE.
