The men face a target on which Is painted a landscape design showing bridges, Helds, hills, rivers, etc., and are taught to find their objects of lire. The upper part of the target is white and removable. The range is only 25 yards, but different elevations of the special rifles are made to represent any distance. The position ot tile shot oil the white target enables the instructor to judge the etliclency of his men. (3) A group of instructors. (1) Wellington Engineers witii a single lock bridge, made under the direelion of Staff Sergeant-Major Browning.
