Hawera, June 30. A Dance. Mrs. Moore’s dance on Thursday night was pronounced a huge success." The night was cold, and everyone was keen to dance and have a good time. “Adbury” is a charming house for entertaining, and dancing took place in the large drawing-room and dining-room. A marquee was erected for cosy corners and sitting-out places—the ground being carpeted, and lit with Chinese lanterns. The spacious verandah was enclosed, and supper was served there, the table being prettily decorated with autumn foliage and red berries. This dance was given as a farewell for Miss Brett, who is leaving Hawera for Auckland where her parents reside. Miss Glynes (Now Plymouth), is the guest of Mrs. .Moore. Mr. and Mrs. 11. Lysaght are spending a short holiday in the Auckland district. Miss Douglas has returned from a visit to Hawke’s Bay. Mrs. Buckley and her small soft have returned from a trip to Rotorua.
