. _ , June 2. A Sociaw. The first social in connection with the Bowling, Croquet and Tenuis Club was held last Friday. The night was very wet, and the attendance small in consequence. Amongst the number there were: Mrs. JuHan, green silk; Mrs. Power, purple: Miss Day. cream silk muslin, pearl trimming; Mrs. Pine, purple silk: Miss Pine, black silk; Miss I. Pine, cream nun's veiling, red waistband: Miss Honan, eream silk muslin, red berries on corsage; Miss Herd (Huntly). white muslin; Miss B. Herd, pink muslin: Miss Cavaye, white silk; Miss MeKenzie. blue silk: Miss Boddie, blue muslin: Miss Hunt, green silk; Mrs. MeCardle, brown: Mrs. Chea I, grey velvet, white muslin fichu. Personal.
Mr. and Mrs. Boddie are still in Auckland. Mr. Boddie is improving in health, but. very slowly. Miss Tylden (Auckland) is the guest of Mrs. Walter Broadfoot,
Miss George I Auckland) is the guest of her aunt (Mrs. R. (?. Jordan). Mrs. Houston (Te Awamutu), who has been visiting Mrs. Alfred Julian, returned home last Saturday. Mr. Morgan, of the T’nion Bank, is away on holiday. Mr. Garvey, of Hunterville, is relieving him.
