May 3. Personal. Sympathy is very keenly felt at present for the Mayor (Mr. W. D. Lysnar),. who had had to go to Wellington on account of serious trouble with his eyes. Mrs. Lysnar, Mr. G. H. Ljvn.tr and Dr. C. F. Scott (Gisborne) accompanied Mr. Lysnar to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Wallis returned on Saturday from a trip to Hastings. Messrs. Carmichael and H. B. Williams returned from Hawke’s Bay on Saturday. Mrs Jackman, who has been spending a short holiday in Auckland, returned on Sunday. Mr. H. White (Gisborne) left on Wednesday to join his wife and daughter in Canterbury where they are visiting. Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Barker, who have
been v’rfttng friends in Christchurch, returned on Saturday. Mr. A. Fenwick left on Wednesday for Napier. Airs. and Miss Alargoliouth, guests of Mrs. <!. Margoliouth, left on Wednesday for Napier, their home. ELKA.
