HAMILTON.
April 29th. Horticultural Show. Contrary to expectations, the Hamilton -Horticultural Society’s Autumn 'Show on Tuesday last, was a great success, though considerably smaller than preceding ones. It was opened by Mr. GreenSlade, M.P., and was very well attended, both afternoon and evening. Among those present were: — Mrs. F. Jolly, in pretty brown toilette, brown hat with autumn tints; Mrs. Biggs dark cloth frock, black hat; Mrs. Bollard, becoming black frock with lace yoke, and black toque; Mrs. Allan Bell’, in cream, with
stylish blaek velvet toque; Mrs. Heywood, white linen coat and ekirt, brown hat with daiaien (committee), and Mrs. H. Valder, grey prineeaa frock, black velvet hat with wings; Mrs. Ross, in purple and black hat, bon. secretalien Mrs. Brewis, pretty nattier blue frock, black velvet coat; Mrs. Going, stylish grey satin princess toilette, black hat; Mrs. H. T. Gillies, blue costume with blaek braiding, black lace covered bat; Mrs. Graham, cream and black striped coat and skirt, black hat; Mrs. Archie, MeDiarmid, navy costume, dark red velvet toque; Mrs. Northcroft, cream eoat and skirt, vieux rose hat; Mrs. Crabb, dark cheek tailor made, blaek hat; Mrs G. C'ornfoot, blaek and white cheek costume with black trimmings, pretty blaek and silver toque; Mrs Tompkins, green and heliotrope shot silk frock, black hat; Mrs Yule, tweed Norfolk costume. green velvet hat; Mrs Brownly, cream costume, Mack velvet toque; Mrs Stevens, brown frock, brown toque with flowers; Mrs Holloway, cream; Miss O’Neill, heliotrope frock, hat with green leaves; Mrs W. Hunter, navy costume, hat with blaek; Mrs Hunter, pretty grey tailor-made, amethyst toque; Miss Hunter, cream costume, large blaek hat; Mrs Runciman, black; Miss Runciman, grey; Mrs Knight, navy blue tailormade; Miss K. Knight, tweed eostnmc, grey hat with wings tipped with vieux rose; Mrs F. E. Smith, green eloth dress, black toque; Mrs Stewart, green costume, green hat; Mrs Fnrze, blaek costume, black hat. Hockey.
The Hamilton Ladies’ Hockey Huh have issued invitations for their “At Home” on Saturday week.
