IN PICTURESQUE OLD ROTHENBURG — THE HOUSE WITH THE ROUND TOWER.

Lying in a secluded valley of Southern Germany, almost midway between Wurtemburg ami Munich is the charming mediaeval town of Kothenburg, quite one of the most picturesque places in Europe. It is comparatively small, ringed in by walls ami moats, ami a delightful maze of irregular streets lined with red-tiled, will tie-washed houses. Gothic Churches, and other architectural beauties. Kothenburg is complete in so far that it is a town of the middle ages with hardly a tmsiern building contained within its walls. The photo shows one of the many architectural oddities in the shape of houses which abound in its quaint and captivating thoroughfares. The slanting windows in the tower light the spiral stairs inside which give access from one floor to another.
