A Puzzle Party. •February ... Miss Rene Nixon gave a very jolly little evening in honour of Mliss Cannon, of Christchurch, who has been staying in Wanganui. Instead of the usual cards, all kinds of new puzzles were played. Amongst those present were Miss W. Anderson,' Miss Cannon (Christchurch), Miss Darley, Miss W. Brettargh, Miss Brettargh and others. Boating Picnic. tin Tuesday eventing a boating picnic was given as a farewell to Mr. ’Hike, who leaves this week for Auckland. Amongst those present wore Miss Brettargh, Miss Parsons, Miss Darley, Miss Stevenson, Miss P. Jones, Miss Anderson, Miss Kerr, Messrs. 'Puke, Chamberlain, Brettargh, Anderson, Dalgety, and others. day. Afternoon tea was given by Misses E. and H.. Anderson. Mrs. Wall wore a smart white embroidery eoat and skirt, black coal scuttle hat with white glace silk ibows; Mrs. Dailey, pretty heliotrope silk gown with bolero braided in fine silk cord, black laee coat,’ black hat with chiffon ami plumes; Miss Darley wore a white linen frock and white hat; Mrs. H. !•'. Christie, blue linen coat and skirt, hat with pale blue in it; Mrs. Montgomerie, pale grey coat and skirt, pale heliotrope hat, with wreath of flowers in the same tone; Mrs. James Anderson, white linen coat and skirt, with embroidery heliotrope tie, and black hat with Chiffon; Mrs. W. Anderson, white linen coat and skirt, burnt straw hat with black glace bows; Mrs. A. Izard, pretty pale blue linen gown with buttons in the same material, black hat with feathers; Mrs. McDonnell (Scotland) wore a smart white linen frock, coarse white straw hat with iblack velvet ribbon; Miss Krull, pale blue Shantung coat and skirt, black straw hat with black silk fringe and black silk bows lined with pale blue silk ; Mrs. 11. Sarjeant, cream Shantung coat and skirt, cream straw hat with wreath of shaded old rose Howers; Miss O. Anderson, cream linen frock, large cream sailor hat, with velvet; Miss H. Anderson, white muslin frock with Valenciennes lace and insertion, blue straw hat with 'blue roses and foliage; Mrs. Gifford Marshall wore a smart amethyst coat and skirt, large straw hat with -wreath of Howers; Miss D. Marshall, pale blue striped gown, pale blue straw hat; Miss Bee Russell (Christchurch), very smart frock of blue silk, made with hobble skirt, hat to match with flowers. Personal. Miss Moore, of Wanganui, is gone for a visit to Wellington and Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. Bayly, of Wanganui, have returned from their visit to Pipiriki. Miss Boe Russell, of Cdiristchurch, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Gifford Marshall, in Wanganui. Dr. and Mrs. McDonnel (Scotland) have been staying in Wanganui for some days. Mr. and Mrs. Good, of. Wanganui, have returned from their visit to Trentham and Wellington. Mrs. Butts, of Wellington, was in Wanganui this week on her way to the Empire City. Dr. arid Mrs. Wall, of Wanganui, have motored through to Wellington, where they intend to spend some weeks. Mrs. Barriieoat, of Wanganui, has returned from her visit to Wellington.
