Second Day—Steamer from To Anau to Head of Lake (40 miles). Walk to Glade House (half-a-milet. Glade House to Pompolona Huts (Clinton Canyon), 9 miles. Third Day Pompolona to Falls Hut (McKinnon’s Pass), 10 miles. Fourth Day—Falls Hut to Milford Sound and Accommodation House (11 miles). Return to Lumsden same way via Lake Manapouri. * An easy journey in 11 days. Approximate cost, £1 per day.
