December 8. Harbour Excursion. At Mrs. George Kenny’s invitation, a party, consisting of Dlr., Mrs., and the Misses Western (from Tua Marina), Miss and the Messrs. Western (2) (Mt. Ifleasant). Mr. Western (England). Mrs. Haughcy (Koromiko), Mrs. Heater (Para), Mrs. Barnet (Waikato), Mrs. and Miss Tripe (Koromiko), Mrs. Maitland, Airs. McShane, Mrs. C. Philpotts, Miss Seymour, and Miss D. Tripe (Picton), went down in a launch to Tory Channel, and after lunching on the beach at Okukuri, proceeded io the homestead. The break-up of the little school was the event of the occasion, and afterwards Mrs. Kenny and Miss Kirk dispensed afternoon tea. Bush Picnic. The pupils of the Marlborough High School invited their lady teachers —Misses Ross and Allen—to accompany them to a picnic at Tua Marina on Tuesday A most enjoyable day was spent iu the bush. Dr. and Mrs. Redman have gone to Wellington for a few days. Mrs. E. Harris (Pelorus Sound) was in Picton this week, visiting the Misses Harris. Mrs. and Miss Pettit (Blenheim) are visiting Mrs. J. Fulton, at Mahakipawa. Mr. John Duncan, M.P., has returned home to the Grove. Mr. Ro«l. Grace, -who has been on a health-recruiting trip to the North Island, has returned to his duties in the telephone office. Mrs. Stocker (Wellington) is here on a visit to her son, staying at Waitohi House. ’ Invitations are out for the marriage of Miss M. J. (Daisy) Dawkins to Mr. Seymour Fell, to take place on the sth of January. BELLE.
