STREET WIDENING IN AUCKLAND. The Auckland City Council has accepted an offer of £l5OO for another strip of property in High -st reet. His Wm-x the Mayor advocated a prompt acceptance of the offer, and a continuation of the work of widening this narrow thoroughfare, which has been going on for a considerable time. Already a number of properties have been cut back and the condition of the street very materially improved.
