The secret would seem to be to use very little trimming, but to make it as effective as possible. Eyelet hole embroidery is being worked in vivid colours. A little of this is introduced at the neck of the new gowns, and in the wide Ineroyable collars that distinguish many of the gowns intended to be
washed. One intense colour is worn over another, instead of black and whit over colour; the Russian influence - strong iu trimmings both as to design and colour. The scarf has become a mantle, -o broad is it, often so extravagantly trimmed. t'hantilly lace has been called int > play.
