August 4. Madame Carreno. After an interval of three years Aladame Terese Carreno’s admirers are keenly anticipating hearing her again. After her Wellington season is over, Madame Carreno will give one concert in the Theatre Royal, Nelson. Skating Carnival. A fancy dress carnival will be held at ithe Skating Bink on August 10th and 111th. Golf Ball. Invitations have been issued by the Nelson Golf Club for their annual ball, ito be helil on August 12th, in the School Of Music. Harmonic Society's Concert. The Harmonic Society gave a very enjoyable programme for their second concert this year. The first part was the popular cantata, “Walpurgis Night,” and an the second part several delightful orichestral and choral items were given. Diamond Wedding. The many friends of Mr and Mrs (Charles Jones, of Franklyn Rise, Nelson, will unite in congratulating them on the occasion of their diamond wedding. Mr Mind Mrs Charles Jones were married on August Ist, 1850, at St. Nicholas’ Church, Hereford, by the Rev. Henry Bridgewater, rector of Snettisham, assisted by the Rev. J. Hanbury, reetor of the parish. Mr Jones is descended from the ancient [Welsh rulers, Ceri, residence Plas-Ty ((Black Hall)), Montgomery.
