WELLINGTON WINTER MEETING.

SECOND DAY. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. On the second day of the Wellington Racing Club's Winter Meeting there was some good racing. The totalisator receipts for the day amounted to £14.126, as against

£13,553 for the corresponding day last year. Bookmakers licensed numbered 25. Results are as follows:— Glasgow Handicap of 135sovs, five furlongs.—Dogger Bank, 10.2, 1; Advantage, 10.0, 2; Scotch Plaid, 9.2, 3. Scratched: Multiple. Won by half a length. Time, 1.8. Karori Handicap of lOOsovs, six furlongs. - Elfish, 10.0, 1: Gold Battery, 9.13, 2; Niwaru, 9.0, 3. Scratched: Magneto. Won by a length and a-half. Time. 1.23 2-5. After going a mile Northern Star came to grief, and the second time round saw Lovell at the head of affairs. Corazon fell at the top corner, Audiix toppling over shortly after. Entering the home turn Sir Lethe was lending Lovell by a length. Capitol, coming up strong from the front of the stand, put in a tine spurt, and got home by a length, eight lengths separating Red McGregor and Sir Lethe. Lovell finished fourth and Klntere fifth.
