The Clarke and Meynell Company attracted good audiences to the Opera House on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, playing “The Night of the Party” and “What Happened to Jones.” On different occasions there were present: Mr and Mrs 11. Mr and Mrs Flower (Christchurch) are staying with Mrs F. Robinson. Miss Coster - (Nelson) is the guest of Mrs G. W. Harden. Mrs Broad has returned from a long visit to Blenheim. The Misses Bell have gone to Wellington for a fortnight. Miss Powell, who has been visiting her aunt, Mrs J. L. Barnicoat, Union Bank, returns to Wellington to-day. Mrs R. R. Reed is away staying with her son, Mr Guy Reed, at Taihape. Mrs J. P. Innes has gone to Napier. Miss Dorothy Tripe is visiting relations in Wellington.
