CAMBRIDGE.
Alareh 24. Last Wednesday a team of B grade players from the Cambridge Tennis Club journey to Leamington to play a series of matches at that place, and after some close contest:,, Cambridge proved the winners. The following “ladder” matches have been played on the Cambridge courts during the last few days: J. Hally defeated J. W. Court 9—6, Roy Roberts defeated K. Court 9 —5. Personal. Invitations had been issued by Air. and Airs. Chamning Buckland for a ball to be held in the new’ Town Hall on the 31st of this month, and much regret and sympathy was felt when it was announced that on account of the illness of Air. C. Buckland it has had to Ire put off indefinitely. It would have been the first dance of the season, and many new’ dresses were underway before it was announced that it had to be postponed. It is to be hoped that Air. Bimkland will make a speedy recoverv. and that the ball will eventuate at an early date. Airs. A. 11. Nieoll is having a number of guests for Easter—her father ( Air. Wright), her sister and brother-in-law (Air. and Airs. A. B. Herrold) and her cousin (Aliss Dunne), all from Auckland. Airs. A. Gibbons is at present visiting Paeroa for a few’ days. Afrs. Farnall has gone to Auckland for Easter. Aliss E. Case has gone to stay with Airs. Alatthew, of Te Kuiti,. for a month. The Rev. A’arde-Buller is at present the guest of Archdeacon Willis.
