PRESENTING THE COLOURS TO THE AUCKLAND GRAMMAR SCHOOL DEFENCE CADETS

After the march past on the Domain—lt took half an hour —the Auckland Grammar School boys formed a square, the drums were piled, and Lord Kitchener presented the splendid colours recently given to the battalion by the Old Girls of the school. Standing at attention and saluting the famous Field-Marshal, the boys presented an inspiring sight. (1) 'Hie presentation of the colours. Lord Kitchener Is standing on the left, with his back to the camera, facing him is Major Gamble, commanding the Grammar School Cadets, and on the right are Colour-Sergeants, Coldham, and Cornes, who are just returning after having received the colours. (2) A company of recruits—the colour sergeants, with the furled flags, standing In the rear. (3) Lotd Kitchener presenting the colours, (4) Some of the boy scouts who took part In the review.
