•February 25. Bridge Party. Mrs. Gillespie (“The Hill’p gave a most enjoyable afternoon bridge party on Monday. February 21st, in honour of her guest. Mrs. Woodward. The hostess wore a white muslin dress; Mrs. Woodward, black and white muslin; Mrs. MaeAllum, gobelin blue coat and skirt, pretty straw hat to match trimmed with black silk; Mrs. Willis, pink Shantung, black hat with feathers; Mrs. Mostyn Jones, dark heliotrope silk, hat to match; Mrs. Long, black silk trimmed with cream lace, black hat; Mrs. Mackay, black dress, black hat; Mrs. Halliday, blue linen coat and skirt, floral toque; Mrs. Aylmer, coat and skirt, black hat: Mrs. Campbell (Wanganui), periwinkle coloured silk frock, stylish brown hat: Mrs. Ed. Goodbehere, black costume, black hat: Mi's. Stewart, green coat and skirt, hat with pink roses; Mrs. Clayton, stone grey dress, black hat: Mrs. Atkinson, blue dress, black hat; Mrs. Leslie Gorton, white dress, very becoming pink hat; Mrs. Montgomerie, mole coloured costume, hat to match; Mrs. A. Fitzherbert. Mrs. Sid. Fitzherbert. Mrs. Waldegrave (Wellington), Mrs. Miles, Mrs. Glasgow, Mrs. Wheeler, and Miss Wheeler. The prize was wen by Mrs. Woodward. A delicious afternoon-tea was enjoyed, the table being beautifully decorated with yellow, and the other rooms with red cactus dahlias. Mrs. MaeAllum gave a very enjoyable ladies’ bridge evening on Wednesday, February 23rd. The hostess received her guest in a black chiffon taffeta trimmed with cream lace. Some of those present were: —Mesdames Gillespie. Woodward. Agnew. Glasgow, Clayton, Mostyn-Jones, and others. Personal. Mrs. Waldegrave is the guest of her daughter. Mrs. S. Fitzherbert. Mrs. MaeAllum and Mrs. Glasgow have returned from the seaside. Mrs. Lnxmoore has returned from Plimmerton. Mr. and Mrs. Sid. Fitzherbert and their little daughter' are contemplating a trip to England next month. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell (8.N.Z.) have gone away for two months’ holiday. Mr. Rennell. of Palmerston, is taking Mr. Campbell’s place in the bank. The Rev. and Mrs. Chatterton (Gislonie) have been the guests of Mrs. C. Hill, Mrs. Chatterton has just returned to New Zealand after being in Germany for a year.
