CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor.) Mr, —Allow me to emphasise yOUT remarks re the misleading cable accounts of British news. I have been amazed at the wrong notions that colonials possess as to English politics. Although I had no direct knowledge, I felt sure that the news source was strongly tainted with a Tory, or reactionary, flavour. One almost despairs of the value of a free Press, when if is so grossly misused by selfish but rieh men. As I know from intimate knowledge of British politics, the New Zealand versions of current affairs would be ludicrous if it were not so seriously one-sided, and consequently dangerous. You do well to enlighten the people.—l am, etc., D. W. MILLEB Marsden Point, February 1, 1910.
