December 3. Afternoon Party. A very enjoyable afternoon party was given by Mrs. Dillon-Carbery on Wednesday. Mrs. Carbery received her guests in a charming frock of grey and lavender brocade with bolero of lace; Mrs. Uniaeke, becoming Princess robe of striped cream and green linen, green hat with heliotrope flowers. Among other guests present I noticed: Mrs. Hogg, gobelin blue linen coat and skirt, gobelin blue hat with roses; Mrs. Meek, lovely frock of pale blue silk, made slightly Empire; Mrs. Porritt, white embroidered linen, black hat; Mrs. Wake, blaek lace over white glace, black and white hat; Mrs. Munro, black chiffon taffetas with cream laee vest; Mrs. Crawshaw, white linen, blaek hat; Mrs. Budge, pale blue eolienne over glace; Mrs. Young, blue and white striped delaine frock; Mrs. Fookes, blue-green and brown striped voile, heliotrope and green floral toque; Miss Bennett, brown and pink silk muslin frock, brown hat with pink roses; Mrs. Good, blue linen coat and skirt, brown and blue hat; Mrs. Menzies, cream coat and skirt, cream hat with floral scarf; Mrs. Stubbs, white linen skirt, white muslin blouse, trimmed with embroidery, black hat. Tennis. The weather this week has been rather unsettled for tennis. On Tuesday the Inglewood players came down, but it rained in the afternoon, and play had to be suspended.
