HAMILTON.

November 19. The Show. The eighteenth A. and P. Show held in the Waikato was terribly marred by the inclement weather experienced on the second day (the people’s day). The horses Were superb, and were said to be, as a class, never equalled in New Zealand. The champion ladies’ horse we particularly admired, Eureka, born and bred in the Waikato, and ridden by its owner’s daughter, Miss Olive Hinton.

Although such a splendid rider, she had rather a nasty spill, owing to the slippery ground, but pluekily mounted again, and took her horse over every jump. Miss Adams, who also had a spill, was rather more hurt, as the girth broke, shooting the saddle and rider far ahead. Among those present we noticed: The President’s wife (Mrs. J. Wright), in navy and green striped costume and pretty jet beehive hat; Mrs. Hardman, mole-coloured costume with dark heliotrope revers, cream hat with shaded heliotrope "humanity plumage”; Mrs. Going, brown silk costume and hat; Mrs. Reece, pretty pale grey costume and large purple hat with roses; Mrs. Loughnan, grey striped Eton costume, black hat; Miss Loughnan, navy costume; Miss Rothwell, navy costume; Mrs. Pailleret, grey costume, pretty hat with roses; Miss O. Sandr, brown striped blouse suit, brown hat; Mrs. Stewart, navy costume, sweet green and old rose floral toque; Miss Lovell, grey coat and spring hat; Mrs. Pemberton, navy costume, green hat; Mrs. Jackson, dark green eoat and hat; Mrs. Tompkins, green costume, Tuscan and black beehive hat; Mrs. Barugh, blaek; Mrs. Lovell, black; Mrs. Allan Bell, navy costume and black hat; Mrs. T. Jolly, light grey costume, pretty grey and heliotrope hat; Miss Bowker, pretty grey costume, large black hat; Miss Hunter, grey and white striped Eton costume, pretty hat with large roses; Mrs. Rush, blaek silk pinafore costume, black hat; Miss Rush, pretty myrtle green Princess dress with cream guimpe, large hat with big blue bow; Mrs. McKenzie, navy costume nnil toque.
