Auckland—First Grade. NORTH SHORE V. UNIVERSITY*. The North Shore foam gained the only three-point win in first grade cricket, by defeating University by 137 runs. In their first innjngs North Shore made 112, and 129 in the second, the principal contributors on Saturday being Kallender (22), and Coleman (30)4 Bowling for University, F. Taylor took five wickets for 35, and Fenwick three for 21. In their first innings University scored 50, and in their second attempt 64, F. Taylor contributing 20, and Wa'llace 17. A. M. Dowden captured six wickets for 27 runs, and W. Bnah three for 9. North ©bore won by 137 run%

EDEN V. PON SON BY. EMen commenced batting with seven wickets down for 298, and the innings finally closed for 228. For Pousonby, IL Woods took five wickets for 56 ruus. Ponsonby’s first innings realised 121, A. Young (41), H. Hobson (23), and R. Snedden being the highest scorers. G. Mills took five wickets for 46, and A. E. Relf four for 37. EMen won by 107 runs on the first innings, a two-point win. PARNELL V. GRAFTON. In their first innings Parnell scored 99, and their second attempt realised IU7, H V. Sale (37), T. A. Jackson (18), and C. Olliff (18), being the chief contributors. Grafton’s first innings closed for 141, N. Goode (19), F. R. Mason (61), S. P. Jones (35, not out), being the top scorers. For Grafton, Gullett took three wickets for 42, Mason two for 27, R. Neil-1 three for 23, and Archer two for 27. For Parnell, C. Olliff captured five wickets for 63, and N. B. Lusk four for 45. Grafton won on the first innings by 42 runs. Second Grade. Grafton v. North Shore.—Grafton, Ist innings, 153; 2nd innings, 88. North Shore, Ist innings, 193; 2nd innings, four for 54. North Shore won by six wickets, a threepoint win. Parnell v, Waitemata.—Waitemata, Ist innings, 113; 2nd innings, 72. Parnell, Ist innings, 99; 2nd innings, 53 for eight wickets. Waitemata won by 14 runs on the first innings, a two-point win. EMen A v. University.—Eden A, Ist innings, 186; 2nd innings, 122 for two wickets. University, Ist innings, 125; 2nd innings, 55. Eden scored a three-point win. Eden B v. Ponsonby.—JHMen B, Ist innings, 369 for seven wickets. Ponsonby, ’ innings, 95. Eden won by 282 runs on the first innings, a twopoint win. Arrival of C. G. Macartney. C G. Macartney, who was considered the best all-round man in the last Australian eleven, arrived in Auckland by the Maheuo on Bunday. It Is understood that Macartney intends taking up his residence in Dunedin and will play for that province. Petone, 156 and 119, beat Victoria College, 57 and 113. Wellington South, 269 and 33 for no wickets, gained a 10-wicket victory over Easft B, 88 and 140. Central defeated North on the first Innings by 226 to 222. East A defeated Hutt on the first innings. Dunedin. The cricket matches were continued on Saturday, in fine but eold weather. In the match Carisbrook A v. Carisbrook B, the latter were disposed of for 149 (Siedeberg 67). The former made 157 for five wickets (Bannerman 61, Rutherford 36 not out). Albion disposed of Opoho for 58, Wordsworth taking five wickets for 25 runs, and Cummings five for 22. Albion made 210 (McFarlane 65, Drake 38). Dunedin met Grange, and compiled 70 in the first innings (Wilson 31), and losing five wickets for 17 runs in the second innings. Grange made 48 in the first innings. Mackersey capturing four wiekets for 21 runs, and Torrance five for 23.
