FEILDING.
July 24. Surprise Party. On Thursday, 15th July, a very enjoyable little surprise party took place at “The Hill,” Mrs. Roberts’ residence. Dancing- was kept up until about one o’clock. The hostess (Mrs. Roberts) wore black net over black satin; Miss Sand Hands, white; Miss Eileen Sandilands, white; Miss Ethel Moore, primrose with green velvet bands; Miss Malfroy. blue; Miss Walker, black velvet and white fichu; Miss Prior, blue silk; Miss Ray, white silk; Miss Jean Bruce, white crepe de chine; Miss Long, pale green silk; Miss Wyatt, blue silk: Miss Vera Mcßeth, white silk. The gentlemen present were Messrs. Barton, Carr, Baddelev, Twigg, Ray, Goodbehere. Prior, Spain, Kenney, Long, and Logie. Mrs. Hazel I supplied the music. Progressive Bridge Party. On Tuesday, July 20th, Mesdames Willis and Gillespie gave a most successful progressive bridge party at the York tea-rooms. Nine tables were provided. Mjb. Willis wore (a handsome .black taffeta gown, trimmed with beautiful Oriental lace; Mrs. Gillespie, a vieux rose silk; Mrs. Macallum, Wack taffeta; Mrs. Halliday, white irerv. with silver trimming, blue in hair ; Mrs. Fitzherbert, pale blue; Mrs. Mostyn-Jones, heliotrope satin; Mrs. Roberts, black; Mrs. €3ayton. pale blue; Mrs. Barton, blue: Mrs. T. Gorton, black: Mrs. Miles, blue; Mrs. Stewart, pink: Mrs. Long, black; Mrs. Goodbehere, Wack; Mrs. Garr, green; Mrs. Glasgow, cream brocade; Miss Malfroy, red; Mrs. Aylmer, blue; Messrs. Stewart, S. Frtzherbert. Spain, Glasgow, Mostyn-Jones, Carr, Miles, L. Gorton. Barton, Aylmer, Clayton, Cottrill, Roberts, Gillespie, Drs. Willis, Macallum, Livesay. The prizes were won by Mrs. Aylmer and Mr. Barton. A very recherche little supper was served when the play was finished.
