Scoac i» Game all"; Love all ' Z declare* Diamonds. *" [A. and B. are players agkinst Y. and Z. A. has .the original lead; Z. is the dealer. The leader’s card in each trick is indicated by ah arrow.] THE PLAY.
Remark (Trick I).—A.’s lead cannot be from two Or three hearts to the king. If the lead be a singleton.' to fiaeaatf will cause loss ; if the lead be from four to the king, -the firms wo cannot bring gain. The dealer's object should be to ruff a dub with Dummy's trump, and to get three discards (or two at leases from bis own ha> d; and his means for achieving thia is to geS the king of hearts out oi the way at once, while Dumjay still bolds the ace of spades. ~
Remark (Tri de 7>—Z. can lose oething* by Refusing to over* trump, taking the opportunity to throw away his last losing cam instead. It he over-trumps, he cannot even hope to draw the resk Of the trumps, for A. has almost certainly the ©, and if his onljp other be the knave, R. must have played very badly id trUmpju* with his 10, holding 1«, 7,6,4. 7 J x .
