The Lengthened Waist Line.
Waists are becoming longer. The very latest gowns from the capital of fashion are remarkable for the lengthening waistline. And this is well, for the picturesque fashion of the short Empire waist is by no means universally becoming. Of course, the short Empire waist is still correct, and even popular, but it is no longer imperative, and it will not be very long before we see whists and hip curves again, though it is to be hoped that this era of straight slimness will have emphasised the chaxui of- a supple and straight figure.
