NAPIER.

Dear Bee, August 28. The teachers and girls of the Napier Girl’s High School gave an AT HOME in the school grounds last Tuesday. The principal attractions were displays of physical exercises and drill. It was a dull afternoon so far as the weather was concerned, but not in other respects, for the programme was very interesting. All the pupils wore navy blue costumes, with white ribbons in their hair. Miss Spencer, the head mistress, received the guests in a slate blue taffeta frock, relieved with white lace, white and blue picture hat, and carried a lovely bouquet of blue and white violets; Miss Kirk wore a blue cloth frock, becoming blue plumed hat, and also carried a violet bouquet; Miss Gillem, dove cloth coat and skirt, pink floral hat; Miss Gillies, navy blue coat and skirt, hat to match; Mrs. Saxby, golden brown cloth costume with white embroidered vest, green and brown
