One of the most interesting features lit the Olympic games at the British Exhibition to the student of human nature, was the varied expressions used by the supporters of the men of different nationalities competing. The ‘‘Allez. Allez!” of the Frenchmen was always devoted to individual competitors, and the finish of an event was marked by a prolonged “Bravo!” One French spectator with the entente spirit fully awakened in nis breast was generous enough to essay “Eep, Eep, Oorayt” when an Englishman won a swimming heat. The following table of war-cries was compiled on the phonetic principle: — Sweden .Hoorah! (four times). Denmark... Hooray! (nine times). FinlandElkoes! (three times). 'HungaryE’ljeu (three times). NorwayHoorah! (nine times); Germany ... .Hoch! (three times). Italyßrava (three times). The Americans combined in a shout of “Rah! Rah! Rah! America!” but there were also individual college cries, such as the Cornell “I yell” orgy of sound, and the prolonged howl which spells Yale. . j
