Dear Bee. March 25. Eight days' solid rain seems to have brought everything to a standstill in Gisborne, and I have nothing in the nature of festivities to relate to you. . / A billiard match was played last week (between the Poverty Bay club and the Gisborne club, resulting in a win for the latter. The finals of the Tennis and Croquet Tournaments had again to be postponed in consequence of the inclemency of the weather. . PERSONAE NOTES. Mr. and Mrs. Barnes-Graham. (Gisborne) and family left by the Waikafre last week to join the Arawa in Wellington. They purpose being away about two years. • Mrs. Edward Murphy left Gisborne last Saturday on a trip to England, to visit (her brother, Mrs. R. Murphy accompanying her as far as Auckland. Miss Bowling (Dunedin) is al present visiting friends in Gisborne. Miss Shaw (Napier) is the guest of Mrs. Sainsbury (Giabome), and at present both ladies are visiting the hot springs, Morere. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. de Latour ((Osborne) returned from their visit to The South last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Lysnar (Gisborne) almost literally paid a flying visit to (Wellington, leaving Gisborne last Sunday, and returning the following Wednesday. * Miss Old and Miss Telford (Gisborne), are spending a short time in Christchurch. Dr. Sibbald, who has been spending some time in Gisborne and the East Coast, left on Sunday last for the South. Mrs. H. de Lautour (East Coast) who lias been staying with her mother, Mrs. Humphrey Bayley (Gisborne) for some .weeks, returned no Thursday. Miss Agnew Brown (Gisborne) returned from the South on Wednesday. Mr. afid Mrs. S. Williamson ’ (Gisborne) went to Napier- last Wednesday. Mjcgnd^Us.-J . Murphy left Gisborrfe for Napjei;>pji Wednesday last. Mr. and Mrs. Saxby (Gisborne) went (South this week. - - Mr.'and- Mrs. Tombleson (Gisborne) returned from the South last-week.
