AUCKLAND PROVINCE. Mrs. Wells, of “Oakleigh,” Cambridge, is at present in Auckland. Mr. Blair (Gisborne) has returned from his holiday tour in the South. Mrs. Runciman, of Auckland, is visiting Mrs. R. J. Roberts, of Cambridge. Miss E. Runciman is on a visit to the Misses Wells, of “Oakleigh,’’ Cambridge. Mrs. James Hally, of Cambridge, is at present visiting her daughter, Mrs. C. Stewart, of Auckland. Mrs. Sainsbury and her son, Mr. 0. Sainsbury, have returned to Gisborne from Auckland and Rotorua. Miss Fitzsimons (Sydney), who has been staying with Mrs. Black (Gisborne), has left on her return journey. Mr. Peter Virtue and Miss Virtue, who have been on a visit to the South Island, returned to Auckland last week. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Nicoll have returned to Cambridge, and are staying with Miss Gwynneth at the “Bungalow.” Mr. and Mrs. Buckland have returned to Cambridge from their motor trip to Rotorua, where they had a most enjoyable time. Mr. William Ross has been appointed Registrar of Brands for the Cook County Branding District, vice Mr. Campbell Thomson, who has retired. Mr. and Miss Harker are staying at St. Andrew’s vicarage, Cambridge, which they have rented during the absence of Archdeacon Willis and family at St. Helier’s. Mrs. Dodd, whose husband has lately been transferred from Gisborne to the Bank of New South Wales in Napier, has left to join her husband, writes our Gisborne correspondent. Miss Cameron, who has been living with her sister in Wellington for some time, is at present on a visit to her people at Devonport, and leaves next week for a trip to the Old Country. Several Cambridge people went to Auckland to be present at Clara Butt’s concerts, writes our correspondent, among them being Mrs. Lundon, Mrs. A. Nairn, Mrs. J. Hally, and Miss E. Cave. Mrs. Wanklyn (Christchurch) who, with her two sons, has been staying with her sister, Mrs. Nolan, “Otipi,” Gisborne, has left for Auckland to visit friends there, writes our Gisborne correspondent. On his retirement from the service of the Gisborne Borough Council next month, Mr. E. Harvey Gibbon, C.E., intends taking a walking tour along the coast to Opotiki. Geological matters are Mr. Harvey Gibbon’s hobby, and he intends making the journey by easy stages, examining the nature of the country as he proceeds. Lady Whitmore, accompanied by Mrs. Dixon, has returned to Napier from some months’ visit to London. An interesting ceremony took place on the Napier lawn tennis grounds, when Mrs. T. Lawlor, who is removing to Hastings, was presented by the club with a silver hot-water jug. Mrs. W. G. Cato made the presentation. TARANAKI PROVINCE. Miss Montgomery, of Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. Oswin, New Plymouth. Mr. F. Pavitt, of Wellington, is on a visit to his daughter, in New Plymouth. Miss D. Bedford has returned to New Plymouth, after a short visit to Auckland. Mr. F. Honan, who has been on a visit to Auckland, has now returned to New Plymouth. Mr. Leo. Horrocks, who has been visiting Auckland and New Plymouth, has now returned to Feilding. Mr. and Mrs. Govett, and the Misses Govett left New Plymouth on Monday for the Old Country, via Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Hyslop, late of Pencarrow, Sentry Hill, intend visiting Auckland and Rotorua before leaving the Dominion. Mr. Maurice Smith, from Wellington, is relieving Mr. Skinner, Chief Draughtsman of the Survey Office, New Plymouth, Mr. Skinner is about to visit the Old Country. WELLINGTON PROVINCE. Mrs. 0.
