Dear Bee, January. 18. Members of the N.P. Lawn Tennis Club gathered together at the courts last Thursday TO FAREWELL MR. AND MRS. GOVETT AND FAMILY, who are leaving next week for a trip to Europe. Dr. Leatbam, as president of the club, wished them “bon voyage,” and Mr. Govett replied, thanking them for their good wishes, on behalf of himself and family. Afternoon tea was provided by the members. A supplementary show arranged by the TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY took place on the Racecourse on Thursday, as owing to the very unfavourable weather on the second day of the annual show, the jumping and racing had to be postponed. Thursday was a perfect day, only a very strong breeze made it rather discomforting.
