The New Glass Necklace.

A necklace that won hl make a very pretty birthday present or would serve for a retinue of bridesmaids is one of Venetian glass. This* is not- the ordinary very long string of beads sold in Venice in such quantities, but a short necklet- designed to girdle the throat. Different schemes of colour can be secured, for while one string rings the changes upon the softest pink and crimson shades separated by translucent, green ami pearl beads* another emphasises the beauty of blue splashed with gold- radiant opal, and the relief of soft amber. The ornament, comprises large beads separated by small ones with a medium* Fixed bva<l to break the monotony of the little ones. Each bead i« beautiful in itself, for the beads are all made at the most famous factory in Venice, and the designs and colours are repetitions of patterns that have been renowned ever since glass was a product of the Adriatic town.
