Dear Bee, October 11. Mrs Holmes Dean gave a delightful EUCHRE PARTY at her pretty home. After supper the rooms were cleared, and dancing was kept up until the early morning. The euchre prizes were won by Miss Ruddock (Auckland) and Mr Pierce (Wellington). Mrs Dean wore a black satin frock trimmed with lace; Miss Dean, pretty pale blue frock; Miss M. Dean, white silk and lace dress; Mrs Pierce (Wellington), wore a handsome black and pink hand-painted chiffon frock over glace silk; Miss Macfarlane, white lace blouse over pale blue, black taffeta skirt; Miss S. Margoliouth, black frock, touches of pink; Miss Vera Margoliouth also wore a pretty black frock; Miss Hewlings, white lace coat over pale pink, white satin skirt; Miss S. Dinwiddie, blue chiffon froek trimmed with lace; Miss Clark, white silk dress trimmed with chiffon; Miss Todd, dainty cream net frock trimmed with pale blue velvet; Miss Ruddock, black frock trimmed with lace; Miss Fannin, white muslin and lace dress, blue belt; Miss Moor, white silk, pink straps; Miss Snodgrass, white satin frock, violets on bodice; Miss Dalrymple, white silk blouse, grey skirt; Miss Hill, dainty white silk froek. Last Monday Mrs De Lisle and Mrs Johnstone gave A FAREWELL TEA in the Kia Ora Tea Rooms, for Miss Page, who is going Home very shortly. Each guest brought a handkerchief as a souvenir, and everybody greeted her with good wishes. Mrs Do Lisle wore a dainty pale blue striped taffeta frock, lace vest, burnt straw picture hat, wreath of roses; Mrs Johnstone, brown and green tweed coat and skirt, white silk blouse, pretty brown hat trimmed with berries; Miss Page, dark grey check tailored costume, becoming black hat (rimmed with chiffon and feathers; Miss Bains, black skirt, pale blue silk Idolise, white and black picture hat; Mrs Ronald, black cloth costume, black picture hat; Mrs Cornford, smart navy blue tailored Eton costume, white picture hat, clusters of pink roses; Mrs Balfour, neat black silk muslin frock, touches of white, white and black silk hat: Miss Kennedy, purple doth frock, pretty purple picture hat: Miss Handin. navy blue coat ami skirt, green floral picture hat: Miss Large, black voile dress trimmed with lace, white chiffon toque; Miss Von DadeIzen. navy blue coat and skirt, blue picture hat: Mrs Hamlin, black silk dress, black toque; Miss J. held in the Recreation Ground last Friday, were largely attende.d in spite of the most unpleasant weather, Mr. and Mrs. Polson, in their usual hospitable manner, entertained the spectators and players with afternoon tea.
