Dear Bee, July 5. Last Thursday evening Mrs. Blundell gave an enjoyable little BRIDGE PARTY. The first prize, a pretty silver hair pin box, was won by Mrs. Dodgshun, The booby, a silver hat pin. fell to Mrs. Greenwood. Amongst those present were: —Me-dames Gordon, Oldham (Taibape), Stevenson, Griffiths, Greenwood. Godwin.' Peake, Lewis. Fairburn. Surjeant, Anderson, and Miss Reiehart. Mrs. Griffiths also gave a small BRIDGE EVENING. The first prize, a book, was won by Mrs. Godwin and the booby, a ebin-a vase, by Mrs. Dodgshun. Amongst the players were: — Mesdames Oldham (Taih-ap-?), Stevenson. Blundell. Griffiths. Godwin. Hughes Johnston. Greenwood. Peake, Dogshun, Misses Brewer and Reiehart. Mrs. H. Nixon gave AN ENJOYABLE LITTLE DANCE at her charming residence at Sedgebrook, in honour of Miss Roberts, of Ashburton, who is staying with her. Amongst the guests were:—Misses Barton, O. Stanford, Darley, Jones, Nixon, Roberts. A. Barton, Messrs. Silk, Enderby. Hardwick, Harold. Dodgshun, Chamberlain, Anderson, and others. On Saturday evening Mrs. Brettargh gave a BRIDGE PARTY in honour of Miss Brenmer. of Wellington. who is staying in Wanganui with friends. The first prize, a book, was won by Miss W. Anderson. Miss G. Mason won the booby, a silver shoe born. Mr. Gordon Dodgshun carried off a silver pen and pencil, and Mr. Medhurst a revolving ash tray. Amongst those present were:—Misses. Ashcroft, Brettargh (2).0. Stanford. J. Jones. W. Anderson. Bremner (Wellington),-Stev-enson, Mason. Brewer. Messrs. Chamberlain (2). Midhurst. 11. Browne, Maaon, Anderson, and others.
On Thursday evening Mrs. A. Lewis gave A BRIDGE PARTY’. The first prize, a Hadley china bowl, was . won by Mrs. Dodgshun. There was a tie between Mrs. Gifford Marshall and Miss G. Stanford for the ’second prize, a Hadley ehina jug, which finally fell to Miss Stanford. Amongst the players were:—Mesdames Griffiths, John Watt, Chamberlain, Brettargh, Dodgshun, Barnieoal, Blundell, Gordon, Fairburn, Pharazyn, Greenwood, Sarjeant, Pattie Izett, Gifford Marshall, Barnard Brown, Stevenson. Godwin, Misses Stanford (2), and Brewer.
