HAND NEWTON-ORBELL.

A pretty wedding was celebrated by the Rev. .C. A. B. Watson at Holy J rinily Church, Stratford, on April 17, when Miss Eleanor Beatrice Orbell, daughter of the late Mr. Frank Orbcll, of Dunedin, was married to Mr. Wil Ham Gordon Hand-Newton, eldest son of Mr. 1 land-Newtou, of Christchurch. The bride, who was given away by her brother. Mr. Frank E.Orbell, of New Plymouth, looked charming in a robe of rich Duchesse satin, with elbow sleeves finished with silk lace .frills, transparent yoke. She also wore the'usual veil and wreath, and carried a beautiful shower bouquet finished with chiffon amt ribbon streamers. The bridesmaids were the bride’s sister. Miss Flossie Orbcll. who wore a dainty frock of white silk tafl'etas; white bat with plume.’, and carried a prettily arranged bouquet of pink roses and maidenhair fern; ami the bride's niece, Misfc Winifred Hubbard, who looked daiilVy in cream crepe de chine, pretty pah' blue bonnet, and sash, and carried a basket of flowers. : Mr. (■'.E. Jackson, of Wanganui, acted-As best man. As the biidal party left the church the Wedding March was played by the organist, Mr. Ke.rnaluin. The guests were then driven to the residence of the bride's mother, where a reception was held. The happy couple left by the afternoon train for the South. Amongst the guests were: Mr. and Mrs. David Crewe (Paliiatua). Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Gordon (Wanganui). Mr. and Mi s. S. Orbell (Inglewood ), Mrs. F. H Hubbard (Palmerston North)..
