Dear Bee, April 12, 11)07. The Palmerston Golf Club opened their season on the Hokowhitn links on Saturday afternoon. A mixed foursomes was played for prizes presented by Messrs. Barraud and Abraham, Ltd. 'The handicapping was so good that three couples tied for first place, B. Harman and Mrs. J. P. Innes, Dr. Wilson and Mrs. Warburton,R. Millton and Mrs. F. >S. Mcßae. In- the play off Mrs. Mcßae ami Mrs. Millton were the winners. Some others competing were H. Cooper and Miss Margaret Waldegrave, Dr. Stowe and Mrs. L. A. Abraham, F. S. Goldingham and Mrs. Seifert, A. Barraud and Mrs. A. E. Russell, F. O’B. Laughnan and Miss Sack, C. Louisson and Mrs. Moore, L. A. Abraham and Miss Marjorie Abraham, A. Stewart and Mrs. Monro, P. Sim and Miss Fitzherbert. END OF TENNIS TEA SEASON. Mrs. W. L. Fitzherbert dispensed afternoon tea at tennis on Saturday last, probably the last Saturday of the season. Mrs. Fitzherbert wore a pretty grey green Eton costume, with white silk collar embroidered in dainty colours, cream hat with green tulle and flowers. Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Wilson. Miss Reed, Misses Randolph (2), Miss Monro, Messrs. Connell, Thompson, Wither, Chesney, Smith, Reedy, Reed, Waldegrave (2), were among the few present. Mrs. E. J. Armstrong, Broad-street, gave A SMALL BRIDGE PARTY on Tuesday evening. Mrs. Armstrong was wearing a black silk toilette, white chiffon on bodice. Mrs. C. E. Waldegrave, black spotted net over white glace, fine black lace trimming corsage; Mrs.
Wannest*!!, black glace skirt, white embroidered silk blouse: Mrs. Rennet!, black silk skirt, white silk and lace blonse; Mrs. Bowl, black evening dress; Miss Armstrong, cream tucked voile skirt, eream silk and lace blouse, cream and pale blue floral silk belt; Miss Randolph, blue silk and cream lace; Miss F. Randolph, pink muslin and lace, wide pink glace belt; Mrs. Bell, blaek crepe de ehine, yoke of blaek sequined lace; Miss Nannestall, pale pink and cream floral muslin with white Valenciennes lace; Mesrs. Armstrong. McKnight. Copeland. Renell and Dr. Pope were also present.
