Senator- Thomas J. Allison, a member of the .Missouri Legislature, is an ackknowledged wag in that more or less dignified body. He was approached the other day by an enthusiastic motorist, •who asked if he was not in favour of some legislation for the benefit of those who own automobiles. “ I am,” replied the Senator “ I am in favour of a bill placing the owners of automobiles under the protection of the State game laws and providing that it shall be unlawful during certain months of the year for farmers to shoot chauffeurs and o<* cupants of automobiles”
