When Should Teeth be Cleaned.

On rising, before retiring for the night, and after each meal. Some may say that the advice is absurd, for no one cleans the teeth so frequently. That may be, and it is one reason why decay of teeth is so common. Teeth should be cleaned with a brush having long and soft bristles. There is no advantage in having hard bristles. One does not need to scrub the teeth as if dealing with a kitchen table. That is one very common mistake. What we need to do is to remove from the crannies all fragments of food, and other matters which would undergo decomposition, and so cause decay. Soft bristles will do this. Hard bristles wear away the enamel. A good rinsing should follow the use of the brush.
