Dear Bee, — August 18. On Friday evening Mrs. I-herwood had a ‘‘long night'’ in connection with her dancing class, which was held in the Alexander Hall, which proved most successful and enjoyable. The music was supplied by Mrs. Pilcher at the piano, at times assisted by Mrs. Isherwocd on the violin. Amongst those present were: Mrs. Isherwood, in black voile with cream lace yoke; Mrs. James Hally, black silk and lace; Mrs. C. Hunter, blaek silk; Mrs. Bell, black voile: Miss Taylor, pretty pale pink silk; Miss. M. Taylor, white silk; Miss Ruddock (Auckland), flowered muslin: Miss Wright, becoming dress of pale blue silk with white net berthe; Miss Willis, pale blue silk with yoke and berthe of point lace; Miss K. Willis, pale grey blouse and white net skirt; Mrs. A. Gibbons, white silk blouse and black skirt; Miss Hally, white Japanese erepe; Miss 11. Wells, white silk much tucked and inserted with lace; Miss P. Ferguson, white silk: Miss Chitty, white silk: Miss E. Hill, pale pink Oriental satin and crimson roses on corsage and in coiffure: Miss Williams, white silk. Amongst the men present were; Messrs. J. L. S. Richardson. Madison. Nieeol, 0. 0. Buckland. Wells, .T. S. Richardson, Dr. Reid. Isherwood, White, P. Stone Kenny, Walker, Taylor, Richards, Boyee. CAMBRIDGE GOLF LINKS. The finals in the Ladies* Waikato Championship was played between Miss R. Skeet and Miss K. Willis, and resulted in a win for the former by 2 up. It was a very close match, anil there were only four strokes between them in the two rounds. The match for the trophy presented by Mr. Boston Couper was finished on Saturday, and resulted iu a win for Miss H. Wells, the scores being Miss IT. Wells, 117 nett; Miss Skeet, 122; Miss N. Young, 123; Miss Wright, 127; Miss R. Skeet. 137; Miss Willis, 153; Miss K. Willis, 155; Miss G. Brooks, 155. On Wednesday, 2MTi. ami Saturday. Ist September, there will be a ladies’ match (14 holes) for a trophy presented by Mr. Pirani. Great interest is being taken in the visit of five Indies of the.
