Mr John Farrell was entertained at a social tendered hint last week by tho members of his electoral committee in recognition of the good light he made at the recent contest for the Chey Lyna seat. The gathering was held in St. George’s Hall, which was decorated with bunting in honour of the occasion. About 200 ladies and gentlemen wer® present. Three long tables were abundantly supplied with food ami refreshments. Mr A. Donald (Deputy Mayor) presided. The following toasts were duly honoured: “Looal BodieV’ proposed by Mr R. T. Warnock, responded to by Messrs W. W. Dumper and G. J. Garland; “Our Guest,” proposed by th® chairman; and ‘"The Committee,” proposed by Mr J. Farrell. In speaking tc this, Mr Farrell took the opportunity to heartily thank all those who assisted his candidature The toast was responded to by Messrs W. Murray and Garland. A good musical programme was gone through and was greatly appreciated. Amongst those who eontribute d were Miss Bailey tpiunoj, Mia® Garland (song), Mr Neville (recitation J. Mr E. Fort (character song), Mr Ferriday (song), Mr Dyson (recitation), and Mr J. Ryan (song), al] the items being encored. “Auld Lang Byne” and th® National Anthem brought to a close a pleasant gathering.
