Dear Be-, November 30. last week two enjoyable. AFTERNOON TEAS were given in honour of Miss Izard, of Christchurch, who is staying in Wanganui with friends—one by Mrs A. (Izard, and the other by Mrs PattleIzett. Amongst those at the latter wore Mesdames A. Izard, Sarjeant, Kissling, Mrs S, 'I. Fitzherbert. Mrs A. On the 21th and 25th a most successful SALE OF WORK in connection with the Church Sewing Guild was held in Christ Church Schoolroom. Amongst those present were Mrs McLean, in a black voile costume, with cream lace, black straw hat with chiffon and wreath of flowers; Mrs Watson,'navy blue Melton coat and skirt relieved with white doth, black chiffon toque: Mrs A. Kitehen, smart black doth tai-lor-made eoat and skirt, with revers of white doth, becoming crimson coarse straw toque with ribbons to match; ’Miss Willis wore a short pale grey tweed pleated skirt, white striped linen blouse, white hat with navy ribbon rosette at the side; Mrs Hatrick. black .Melton coat and skirt, the Eton coat outlined with white stitched cloth, pretty heliotrope straw toque with spray of flowers; Airs Hawke wore a pale grey striped flannel coat and skirt, navy blue straw hat with ribbons to match; Miss Drew, black and white tailor-made coat and skirt, hat to match; Mrs 11. Peake, black serge coat and skirt, black bonnet relieved with white chiffon; Miss Christie, white muslin with insertion and lace: Miss Krull, white muslin gown with narrow frills on the skirt, and lace and insertion; Misses Stanford (2), Lusk (Auckland), W. Anderson, Gresson wore dainty while frocks with green sashes to match their stall; Mrs Gatenby, tabae brown cloth costume, brown straw hat relieved with tangerine; Mrs A. D. Willis, black silk with lace, black bonnet with touch of white in it; Mrs Ashcroft, fawn shaded linen gown, cream straw hat with wreath of pink rosea and foliage; Mrs Hughes-Johnston, blue serge skirt, cream linen embroidered blouse with pale blue ribbons; Mrs J. C. Greenwood, cream and brown striped flannel coat and skirt, pretty toque with touches of heliotrope; Airs Lloyd Jones, black cloth costume, black fancy straw hat with white; Mrs Janies Watt, blaek cloth gown, fancy straw toque to match; Mrs McNaughton Christie wore a smart navy blue Eton coat and skirt relieved with pale blue cloth and finely embroidered straw toque with black gauged chiffon and emerald green ribbon rosettes and touches of pale blue; Mrs John Watt, black cloth costume, becoming blaek and white toque; Miss Alexander wore black gauged voile frock with cream net and lace, Early Victorian yoke, pastel blue straw hat with ribbons and wreath of roses and foliage; Mrs Empson. dark grey tweed coat and skirt, black straw hat with ostrich plumes; Mrs F. Millward, pale grey tweed coat and skirt, crimson straw hat with ribbons; Mrs Hoggart], black cloth eoat and skirt, black and white fancy straw toque with aigrette; Mrs Bhnrriff, pale grey tweed tailormade coat and skirt, hat to match; Mrs Haseldean, black coat and skirt, black straw hat; Mrs Humphreys, pale grey tweed coat and skirt, white vest, cream straw hat with wreath of pink roses and leaves: Mrs G. Marshall, bright navy blue Japanese silk frock, profusely gauged and trimmed with champagne lace and V-shaped vest, full silk elbow sleeves with fall of champagne laee; Miss Moore, black serge coat and skirt, cream liat with blue and cream scarf; Mrs Gordon, black skirt, cream silk blouse, crimson straw hat with ribbon to match. There, were also present Mesdames Mcßeth, Haines, Notniun, Babbage, Harper, Lundins, Pattle-Izett, P. Torling. Rutherford, Dawson,Cleghorn, John Anderson, A. Nixon, Misses Empson, Williams, Hardcastle, Rutherford (Wairarapa), McNeill, L. Barnard, Brown, Brettagh, D. Cleghorn, in becoming white muslin gowns with silk sashes to match their stalls.
