Dear Bee. August 19. Last Wednesday evening the THIRD ASSEMBLY was held in the Theatre Royal, ami. like the two previous ones, it was most enjoyable. The stage was very pretty ami picturesquely arranged as a garden for the sitters-out. ami ewsy nooks and corners were arranged everywhere, much to the delight of the merry dancers. Amongst those present were: Mrs. Penn, wearing white crepe <lt chine over glace silk; red geraniums on bodice and in hair; Mrs. W. Bayly. pale pink silk: .Miss E. Fookes, pale blue, with blaek velvet shoulder straps, black velvet in hair; Aliss Liddell, very pretty pale green silk trimmed with cream lace and pink roses; Aliss Alice Brewster (debutante) was charmingly attired in cream brocade, Veiled in Brussels net, the skirt and decolletage being finished with tiny frills edged with niched glace ribbon; Miss Devore, white tucked silk with pale blue belt and chon in hair; Miss Holdsworth,

Some very handsome and charming costumes were worn and, with the decorations on the stage, the scene was very picturesque. The music was superb, ii being, as usual, supplied by AtcKinnon Bain's orchestra. 'The floor was like glass. The ball opened as usual with the (•rand March, so all the costumes were seen to an advantage. Great credit was due to the joint secretaries. Messis Jock Fraser and Frank Bell, for the way in which everything was carried out. They were assisted by Messrs George. Preshaw, Stocker, Humphries. and Mesdames Stocker, Penn. Percy Webster.
