Dear Bee, May 19. Mr. and Mrs. Turnbull entertained a number of their friends at a most enjoyable euchre party last Tuesday evening. There were thirteen tables. Miss White won the ladies’ first prize, a sil-ver-mounted hair-pin box. The men’s first prize, a silver serviette ring, was won by Mr. L. Storey. Play was kept up until about half-past ten, when supper was served, the guests dispersing a little after eleven o’clock, after having spent a delightfid evening. Amongst those present I noticed: Mrs. Turnbull in a gown of black silk, the corsage relieved with point lace; Miss A. Turnbull wearing a
dainty frock of white silk, the skirt prettily tucked and inserted with lace, pink silk sash; Miss White, pretty frock of white silk, the skirt tucked, the corsage finished with a deep yoke of lace; Miss Coutts, dainty frock of pink silk, the corsage trimmed with bands of lace insertion; Miss Baird, white silk, frilled, and tuck’d; Miss P. Baird, white silk blouse, deep transparent yoke of ecru lace; Miss Eva Baird, white silk, frilled and tucked; Miss Caplen, pastel-blue silk blouse, trimmed with lace, dark skirt; Miss Brett, white muslin, inserted with lace, and tucked; Miss Dingle, white silk daintily trimmed: Miss McLean, handsome 'froek of iloral white silk, the corsage trimmed with lovely lace; Miss Alexander, white silk blouse, prettily trimmed, black skirt; Miss Hirst, black satin; Miss M. Hirst, very dainty blouse of blue silk, relieved witli lace insertion. dark skirt; Miss N. Coutts; Miss Beryl Nolan, floral silk blouse, dark skirt; Miss Q. Glenn, white silk frock; Miss Bayly, green silk blouse trimmed with lace, black skirt; Miss A. Bayly, red-shot silk blouse, dark skirt; Miss Carey (Stratford), very dainty froek of white muslin, prettily trimmed, with lace; Messrs. Turnbull (2), Kenny, Swinburne, Norton, Liddip, Nicholson, Glenn (2), Baird (2), Caplen (2), Aitken. Trimble. Parkinson (3), Atkinson, Nadler, Bavlv. Chettle.
