The overland route, Auckland-Wel-lington, via Taumarunui, on the Central railway, and thence down the Wanganui River, has grown rapidly in popularity. We are sorry to hear that rumours have been circulated here and in the Rotorua district to the effect that owing to. the lowness of the Wanganui, consequent upon the long period of dry weather, the boats were not running. Messrs. Ha trick and Co. assure us that they, have not missed a single bi weekly trip or refused a nassenger except vthen overcrowded.
