Dear Bee. March IS. Wc have had perfect weather for th* last few. weeks, and are just dreading the lime when it begins to break up, and we must say good-bye to tennis and other summer games. However, winter brings consolation in the way of dances and golf, which, after atl, are very satisfactory amusement's, and make up for the toss of a good many tennis parties, picnics, ete. Mrs G. Eliott gars' A MOST ENJOYABLE GIRLS’ AFTERNOON TEA at the Alexandra Tea Rooms on Friday last. Mrs Eliott wore grey and white muslin and blaek chiflion hat lined with white; Miss M. Wallis, pale blue muslin, white hat; Miss M. Sheriff, blue and white muslin dress, black hat; Miss L. Bennett, white muslin frock, white hat ; Miss E. Bradley, grass lawn, white hat with pink flowers; Miss E. Bradley, blue batiste dress, white hat, trimmed with blue; Miss Fleming, grey voile Eton costume, hat en Suite; Miss C. Boylan, blue-grey voile, blaek chiffon hat; Miss F. Boylan, thin blue muslin, white hat; Miss C. Foster, tussore silk dress, block hat; Miss Foster, cream voile dress, pale blue hat; Miss Wacbsmaun, spotted grass lawn frock, white hat. Saturday was A PERFECT DAY FOR TENNIS, and several matches were played at both clubs. At Whataupoko the Misses Barker gave afternoon tea. Amongst those present were Mrs Barker, who wore a blue foulard costume, trimmed with insertion and laee, hat to match; the Misses Barker wore dainty white silk dresses and white mushroom hats; Mrs Willock wore a white linen costume and black hat; Mrs A. W. Rees, navy blue voile, trimmed with ecru lace; Mrs W. Barker, white silk dress, blaek hat; Mrs F. Parker, while muslin frock, blaek hat; Miss McLean, spotted grass lawn frock, white hat; Miss Rutledge, white linen skirt, white, muslin blouse, pink hat; Miss N. Rutledge, white muslin dress, white hat; Miss M. Burke, puik linen costume, white lint; Mrs E. A. Pavit-t, white linen dress; Miss Wachsmanu, white muslin, green belt, white hat; Misses Bradley (3), Reynolds, Foster, Fleming. Some of the gentleman were Messrs Symes, Grant, Wallis, Blair, Burke, Barron, Hunter, Matthews. Mrs W. L. Rees has begun giving her delightful tennis parties again at “The Bungalow." where so many pleasant afternoons were spent, last summer. A BRIDGE TOURNAMENT is now being played, games taking place h| different people's houses each week. I mat week it was held at Dr. and Mrs Williams', I he week before at Mr and Mrs Reynolds', and this week at Mr and Mrs Mann's. Amongst the players are Mr and Mrs Reynolds, Mr and Mr* Mann, Dr. and Mrs Williams, Mr and
Mrs Cyril White, Mr and Mrs Carmichael. Mr and Mrs G. Eliott, Miss Bradley, Messrs Burke, Grant and Sainsbury. Mr W. Chrisp gave " A FAREWELL BACHELOR PARTY on Thursday night to Mr Walter (landin, who leaves for Auckland, on Saturday. A very pleasant musical evening was spent, songs being given bv Messrs E. Chrisp, Hunter, Dalrymple. F. Lent, De Costa, and others. ELSA.
