Hear Bee, March 18. A MOST ENJOYABLE DANCE was given on Friday evening by. Mr*. Junies Hally, at her lovely home, “Yalii'ai." The rooms are so spacious that entertaining a large gathering is an easy matter. The dining room was used for dancing. A moat tempting eupper was laid in the breakfast: room. The table decorations, which, were most artistic, consisted of an arch-way in the centre of yellow calliopsis and faijry sunflowers, with low vases of the same •lowers at the corners of the table. There seemed to be almost as many visitors as residents present, as almost every one seemed to have friends who had come in for the show, which had been held the two days previous to the. dance. Mrs. Hally received in a lovely dress of black tucked chiffon over nilk, with handsome cream lace yoke on hodice, and hanging sleeves with cream lace inside, matching the yoke. She was assisted by her daughters, Mrs. A. Gibbons wearing a rich white silk trimmed with Paris lace insertion and white roses in het hair; Miss Hally, who looked very dainty in a pale blue crepe de chine, much tucked, and pink roses on corsage and coiffure) and Miss A. Hally, pretty white silk frock, tucked and inserted with lace, targe while bow on her hair. Miss Williams looked charming in a frock of while net' over silk, and trimmed with rows of narrow white satin ribbofi, berthe of white lace, and spray of pink roses, and roses in her hair; Miss E. Hill, white muslin with touches of crimson; Miss Richardson looked very sweet in soft- white silk; Miss Walker (Auckland), black net with rose pink bow in coiffure; Miss T. Walker (Auckland), white silk, with pale blue sash; Miss Wells, white silk, with crimson bow on corsage; Miss H. Walls looked very stylish in blaek silk, with pale blue ceinture, and spray of pale blue poppies in her hair; Miss M. Hesketh (Auckland), looked very dainty in soft white, silk, with touches of pale blue; Miss Brooks, white silk; Miss Cousin (Auckland) looked chic in blade ■ net over silk, trimmed with passementerie; Miss Clarke, white over yellow silk, yellow sash; Miss Morrow. (Auckland), pale blue silk; Miss Wilchelt (Auckland), looked charming in pale blue, and roses in her hair; Miss Chislomn, white muslin; Mrs. Garrett (Auckland). black voile; Mrs. F. Gane, white evening dress; Miss I’. Ferguson, white muslin; Miss Skeet. white silk; Miss Brown, cream silk, trimmed with string coloured insertion; Miss Taylor, a becoming dress of cream satin, overdress of white net-; Miss M. Taylor, white muslin over pink silk; Miss Farley, white silk, a spray of ivy iu her hair; Miss Storey, wihte silk; Miss Cave, black accordion-pleated chiffon blouse, yoke and cuffs of sequins worked on white net, black skirt, jet butterfly in coiffure; Miss K. Souter, white silk; Miss G. Cave, white silk; Miss Gwynnctii, black silk with large tangerine rose on corsage; Miss Gibbons, pale green silk, pink roses on corsage. Amongst the men wore: —Messrs. Hally (2), Farnatl, Maddison, Richardson (2), Vereoe; Watchhorn, Patterson, Taylor, Jackson. Douglas. Falls, Isberwood, Fisher, Ferguson, Williams, Firth, Wells, Subbing. Olarke. ELSIE.
