( One of the most successful and large* ly attended “At Homes’ that has takes place in Dunedin for some time wan given by Mrs Leslie Harris at her beautiful residence, “Del Alonte,” High-street, on the afternoon of March Bth from three to six o’clock. Favoured with glorious weather nearly a hundred guests availed themselves of the invite* tions and the whole of the house being thrown open there was no crowding and all evidently thoroughly enjoyed themselves. An excellent band was in attendance on the lawn. In one of the reception rooms a lady was present pro* pared to tell the fortunes of all those wishing to know what the future had in store for them, and, needless to say, she was kept well occupied. Mrs Harris, who lias recently returned from an extended visit to England and the continent. received her guests in a charming cream voile costume trimmed with handsome silk, lace and medallions to match, and was assisted by her niece, Miss Gross, from London, who was attired id a pretty navy voile, beautifully trimmed. Many recherche gowns were noticeable among the guests and the glorious weather, together with the very excellent arrangements made by the hostess for the entertainment of her friends, caused several to remark that tho reception was one of the most successful and pleasurable they had ever attended.
