Airs. Edwards, wife of Mr Justice Edwards., is suffering from the effects of a rather terrifying accident she had on Saturday week. She was driving out with her daughter when the wheel of the vehicle went into a rut. and the jerk tlirew Mrs Edwards out of the trap on to her head. Fortunately her hotel was near at hand, and she was removed there without difficulty. She is still under treatment for her injuries.

The new Kelburne Bowling Club. Wellington, is fortunate in having two such experienced and enthusiastic bowlers as Mr IL C.. Ila merlon and Mr J. P. Campbell in the important positions of president and vice-president respectively. Mr- Hamer ton was instrumental; in . forming the Victoria Club which, though small, has >o;uc of the best players in the colony on its roll. Colonel Bell, the famors ex-Consul for the United States, who has been staying for some lime in the South, is at present in Auckland. He arrived here on Sunday, and was the guest of the Consul-General for America in the afternoon.
