Air Fred. Earl, of Auckland; is visiting Wellington. Mr W. J. Napier returned from Wellington by the s.s. Rarawa last week. Mr. and Mrs. Teschemakcr (Otaio) are staying at Sumner. Mr. and Mrs. W. Bond (Christchurch) arc visiting in Timaru.

Miss A. Stoddart (Diamond Harbour) spent last week in Christchurch visiting friends.

Mr 11. T. Lewis, of Wanganui, is at present visiting relatives and friends in Auckland. Mrs E. and Miss L.M. Ehrenfried. who have been on an extended visit tn Au< tralia, returned to Auckland on Jnly 22 in the Ventura. Mis.s Frater, of Parnell, Auckland, who is at present on a visit to Cambridge, is the guest of Miss Weils, “Oakleigh.”

Sir George and Lady Clifford have returned to Stoneyhurst after having spent a few weeks at their town residence. Fendalton, Christchurch. Mrs. J. J. Kinsey lias returned to Christchurch from Dunedin after spending a month with her daughter, Mrs. W. A. Moore.

The Ven. Archdeacon Wright, Picton, has just returned from Nelson, where ho went on a business visit in connection with the diocese. Mrs. and Miss Acland are in Christchurch staying with Dr. Hugh and Mrs. Acland for a few days. Miss Acland left last week on a visit to Australia. Sir Robert Lockhart, Bt., who has succeeded to the title and Scottish estates of his family, arrived in Auckland o>i Saturlay night by the Ngapnhi, and, with Lady Lockhart and his family, goes to Sydney, via Wellington, en route for Scotland.

Among visitors to Wellington at present are Mr and Mrs P. Van Reenen, of Capetown, South Africa, who are spending a month on tour in New Zealand. Having thoroughly done the South Island, they made a short stay in Wellington before going on to Wanganui, Rotorua and Auckland. From New Zealand they go on to the South Sea Islands, and thence to Sydney.

Trail-Hailey and liis wife, who are “pioneers of civilisation” amongst the Maoris in the Bay of Plenty district, are on a visit to England, having been granted six months’ leave of absence fur reasons of heal Hi. They came Heme by the Ruapehu, and are now staying at Stony Stratford. Having visited the Continent in previous years, they will this time spend the whole of their holiday in the Old Country.

Mr Charles Lowe, of the Mot.neka Fruitgrowers’ Co-operative Society, is on a visit to England. lie left New Zealand on April 29 in the ■Sonoma, crossed America by the Santa Fe line, and the Atlantic in the Majestic. Ho enjoyed good weather all the way, ami was treated very cordially in America. Mr Lowe is Home on business, ami since landing has visited several large fruit farms in Kent and other districts.
