AUCKLAND FIXTURES. SENIORS. The final match in the senior competition, United v. ’Varsity, ended in a diaw on Saturday, each side scoring once. In the first spell neither side scored, but in the second spell both teams livened up, Morpeth scoring first foi United, and Ziman following for ’Varsity. Mr P. W. Bushnell refereed. JUNIORS. Auckland A beat Auckland B by 5 goals to nil on the No. 1 ground, the scoters being Auekram (2), Steele (2), and Young. 1 LADIES* HOCKEY. Seniors: Wapiti drew with ’Vaisity, 1 goal each; Kopana beat Ladies’ College, 4 goals to 1. Juniors: St. George’s beat. Kotiro, 1 goal to nil; ’Varsity beat Ladies’ College, 3 goals to 2. WET WEATHER STOPS PLAY. WELLINGTON, Monday. All hockey matches In connection with, the senior and junior contests were postponed owing to the w r et weather. WANGANUI FIXTURES. WANGANUI, Monday. The T.Y.M.T. v. Maxwell match resulted in a win for T.Y.M.I. by 5 goa’s to 1. The Maxwell’s backs put the greens on the defensive several times, and although Maxwell were dangerous again and again, their forwards only managed to score once. The
East Town v. St. Paul's game, as was expected, was far above the average. St. Paul’s played a determined game from the gtart, aud but fo* over-lteeniiess oq the part of their forwards, must hive ipn, qs two eiijiy goals wuk misse<l. East Town had rather the butter of tht\ firs| ep<4*’ and St. Paul's uuduubtedly had the best of the second spell. The game ended oue all. The Baptist v. K.C.C. teams met on the College ground, and Baptists won by 3 to nil. The winners played with more dash and combination than their opponents.
